Mt. Pleasant Animal Shelter announces a leadership transition of its Board of Directors. Henry J. Ristuccia, who has served on the Board for more than 20 years and as President since 2020 with dedication and passion, is stepping down from his leadership role, while continuing to serve as a member of the Board of Directors. Under Henry’s leadership, Mt. Pleasant Animal Shelter has made significant progress in its core mission of saving and improving the lives of homeless animals.
“Serving as President of Mt. Pleasant has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life,” said Mr. Ristuccia. “I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved so far through the combined efforts of our staff, volunteers, fosters, and donors.” Henry will continue as a board member and in the role of Past President.
Taking the helm as the new Board President is Mark Hanulak, a long-time supporter of the shelter and its mission. Mark and his wife, Melissa, are avid animal lovers who have volunteered their time to support Mt. Pleasant Animal Shelter’s initiatives. The couple has also fostered and adopted three of their beloved dogs from the shelter, exemplifying their deep commitment to the organization’s mission.
Mark joined the Mt. Pleasant Animal Shelter Board in 2022 and is currently a member of the Finance Committee. Professionally, Mark is a partner at Deloitte & Touche LLP, where he specializes in providing audit and advisory services to entities within the life sciences industry. With broad experience spanning venture-backed startups to global Fortune 100 publicly traded companies, Mark brings invaluable expertise to the shelter. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a graduate of Rutgers University.
“It has been an honor to serve alongside Henry, whose tireless efforts have made a lasting impact on Mt. Pleasant Animal Shelter,” said Mark. “I look forward to continuing the work of improving the lives of the animals in our care and supporting the community of animal lovers who make our mission possible.”
The entire Mt. Pleasant family extends its heartfelt gratitude to Henry for his remarkable contributions and leadership. As the organization looks to the future under Mark Hanulak’s guidance, it remains steadfast in its vision of a community where every animal is valued, cared for, and loved.
