Volunteering is a great way to show your love and support of our animals. To get started, please complete our volunteer application. After receiving your application, we will contact you about attending a volunteer orientation. Volunteer opportunities include:
Dog Walker
Our dogs are full of energy and love to play with their human friends. Volunteers help exercise our dogs throughout the day every day of the week. You must attend a Dog Walking Orientation before working with our dogs.
Cat Companion
Socializing with the cats in our care is important for their health, wellness, and adoptability. Volunteers play, pet and groom our cats, and help them get comfortable with human interactions. Monday -Friday
Shelter Helper
Help us meet the needs of daily operations by assisting with laundry, dishes, creating enrichment treats, and sorting donations.
Kennel Attendant
Assist with the morning cleanings within the cattery or dog runs. Shifts are available every day from 8:30 to 11:30 AM.
Event Assistant
Our fundraising events help us save more homeless pets.Volunteers are needed to assist with hosting or coordinating a fundraising event, setting up and taking down our event sites, soliciting local businesses for donations, and distributing flyers and information about our events.
Public Relations
Assistant Help promote Mt. Pleasant Animal Shelter by taking pictures and creating highlight videos or content for our social media channels.
Administrative Assistant
Whether it is scanning documents, filing or writing thank you notes, our office staff can use your help.
Donation Collector
Local companies often give us critical donations but need us to pick them up at their location. Volunteers help us pick up these donations and bring them to the shelter. Must have a driver’s license and car.
