Countless homeless animals in need pass through the front door of Mt. Pleasant Animal Shelter to be loved, honored, and cared for, whatever the cost.
Some animals need higher levels of care. Nicky’s Second Chance Fund earmarks monies to treat animals that have medical needs above and beyond our normal high standards of care.
Our caring staff does everything possible to ensure treatment and full recovery for these animals, preparing each one of them for his or her best possible opportunity to finding a forever home…no matter the cost.
Nicky’s Second Chance Fund is named after a dog who endured years of abuse and neglect, but found peace and love in her final days at Mt. Pleasant Animal Shelter. We honor Nicky’s memory by using these donations to help get every animal, no matter what its medical needs, into permanent homes as quickly as possible.
Pippa needed emergency surgery to remove a life-threatening tumor and is now eagerly waiting for her forever home.
Honey needed to have her painful front leg amputated. Now she enjoys her days playing with her siblings.
Savana needed double ACL surgery and is now happily playing in her forever home.
Willie needed surgery to remove his eye after trauma. Having only one eye hasn’t stopped him from finding all the toys in his new home!
